Stella Raphael, a bored and unfulfilled wife, becomes entangled in a passionate affair with Edgar, one of her psychiatrist husband Max's patients, who has a gruesome violent past. As their relationship intensifies, Stella must navigate the consequences of her desire for excitement, while her husband and others become increasingly suspicious. In the end, Stella's obsession with Edgar ultimately leads to her downfall, as she succumbs to her own darkness in a tragic and devastating conclusion.
