Wildhood

Link (Phillip Forest Lewitski) flees his abusive father and embarks on a journey to find his estranged mother, meeting Pasmay (Joshua Odjick), a Mi'kmaq powwow dancer who becomes both a guide and a love interest as they navigate their way through Canada. Along the way, Link rediscovers his indigenous heritage and finds himself at odds with his father's abusive behavior, leading to a confrontation that forces him to confront his own identity and relationships.
