The Dreaming

In this Australian horror film, a group of Indigenous activists attempt to repatriate ancestral artifacts from a cave on Kangaroo Island, but one of them is shot and experiences strange visions related to violent events from the past. The incident leaves her doctor, Dr. Cathy Thornton, rattled as she begins to experience terrifying nightmares and visions of brutal whaling fishermen. As Cathy's grip on reality falters, she uncovers a dark history of violence and trauma inflicted upon an Aboriginal tribe by whalers in 1856, leading to a desperate confrontation with the forces of evil that have taken hold of her own family member, Bernard Thornton.
