The Gentle Gunman

The Gentle Gunman is a 1952 British drama film directed by Basil Dearden and starring John Mills as Terence Sullivan and Dirk Bogarde as Matt Sullivan. The film tells the story of two IRA men in London during World War II, as their brotherly relationship is strained when Terry begins to question the use of violence in the name of the cause. Matt's character is also affected by a personal tragedy that led him to join the IRA, and both brothers find themselves on a collision course with the IRA superiors who brand Terence as a traitor.
