Dark Angel: The Ascent

A female demon, fed up with her hellish domain, ventures to the surface world to punish the wicked. She finds herself in the middle of a city via the sewers, shedding her demon form and emerging as human, only to be hit by a car. Her life intersects with that of a handsome doctor, Max Barris, who becomes attached to her despite her odd behavior, including intervening in crimes and showing him the horrors of the world. As their relationship deepens, Veronica's true nature is revealed, and Max accepts her for what she is.
