"Hysteria" is a 1997 British-Canadian psychological thriller film about radical experiments on psychiatric hospital inmates who are implanted with chips that affect their collective consciousness. The psychiatrist Dr. Harvey Langston (Patrick McGoohan) has connected the brains of a group of patients, allowing them to share each other's psychoses, dreams, and even sexuality. As a result, one woman, Myrna Malloy (Amanda Plummer), dominates the others, while another patient, Veronica Bloom (Emmanuelle Vaugier), is released by her doctor, Dr. Samuel Fry, who falls in love with her but eventually becomes entangled in Langston's group mind experiment.
