The One and Only, Genuine, Original Family Band

The Bower family, led by Grandpa Walter Brennan, moves from Missouri to Dakota Territory during the 1888 presidential election. The family, including eldest daughter Alice (Lesley Ann Warren) and suitor Joe Carder (John Davidson), decides to settle in the Black Hills instead of supporting Grover Cleveland's campaign. As the family settles into their new life, they become a local sensation with their musical talents, performing for President Cleveland at the convention and for locals, who even try to convince them to support Republican candidate Benjamin Harrison. Through their journey, the Bower family learns valuable lessons about perseverance, loyalty, and community, ultimately resolving their differences and living together in peace.
