The Phantom of the Open

The Phantom of the Open is a 2021 British biographical comedy-drama film directed by Craig Roberts, about Maurice Flitcroft, a dreamer and unrelenting optimist who managed to gain entry to The British Open Golf Championship qualifying in 1976 and subsequently shot the worst round in Open history. Mark Rylance stars as Maurice Flitcroft, alongside Sally Hawkins, Rhys Ifans, Jake Davies, Christian Lees, Jonah Lees, Mark Lewis Jones, and Johann Myers.
