Sir David Mark Rylance Waters is a renowned English actor, theatre director, and playwright born on January 18, 1960, in Ashford, Kent, England. He was the first artistic director of Shakespeare's Globe in London from 1995 to 2005 and has received numerous awards for his stage work, including three Tony Awards and two Olivier Awards. Rylance won the Academy Award for Best Supporting Actor for his portrayal of Rudolf Abel in Bridge of Spies (2015).
