Mad Love

The film "Mad Love" (2001) tells the tragic story of Queen Joanna of Castile, who is madly in love with her unfaithful husband, Philip the Handsome, Archduke of Austria. In 1496, Joanna marries Philip, expecting a political alliance between their countries, but she finds herself consumed by passion and eventually becomes pregnant. However, Philip's infidelity and numerous affairs, including with a Moorish prostitute named Aixa, drive Joanna to madness and jealousy, leading her to cut off Aixa's hair in a fit of rage. As Joanna's mental health deteriorates, she is declared insane and locked away in the castle of Tordesillas for the rest of her life, unable to rule Spain.
