Buck and the Preacher

Buck and the Preacher is a 1972 American Western film directed by Sidney Poitier, starring as Buck, alongside Harry Belafonte as Reverend Rutherford (Preacher). The film follows Buck, a wagon master, and his con-man preacher friend, Preacher, as they help freed slaves on their journey out West, pursued by cheap-labor agents and violent white men. Along the way, they employ various tactics to protect themselves and their charges, including ambushing raiders and robbing banks.
