A 17-year-old cartoonist rejects the comforts of his suburban life in a misguided quest for soul, leaving behind a trail of chaos and destruction in the process. After a life-altering car accident, he meets Wallace, a possibly unstable former cartoonist, who introduces him to a dark world of cringe comedy and eccentricities. As their unlikely friendship deepens, Robert finds himself drawn into a world of volatile behavior, desperate attempts at artistic validation, and a blurring of lines between reality and fantasy.
