Whirlpool

A successful marriage is usually based on what a husband and wife don't know about each other. In "Whirlpool," a 1950 American film noir thriller directed by Otto Preminger, the wife of a wealthy Los Angeles psychoanalyst falls prey to a devious quack hypnotist when he discovers she is an habitual shoplifter. After one of his previous patients is found murdered, with her still at the scene, suspicion points only to her, and the couple must unravel the tangled web of secrets and hypnosis to clear her name and uncover the truth behind the crime.
