The film "Hand in Hand" (also known as The Star and the Cross) is a 1961 British drama about the unlikely friendship between two young children, Michael O'Malley, a Roman Catholic boy of around nine years old, and Rachel Mathias, a 7-year-old Jewish girl. As their differences become apparent to those around them, Michael and Rachel must confront the prejudices of their community and learn that their friendship is stronger than any religious divide.
