The Gorgon

The Gorgon is a 1964 British horror film directed by Terence Fisher and starring Christopher Lee, Peter Cushing, Richard Pasco, and Barbara Shelley. The story takes place in early 20th-century Germany, where the village of Vandorf has been plagued by seven inexplicable murders of young men who were turned to stone. A professor, Dr. Namaroff (Peter Cushing), investigates the deaths, aided by his beautiful assistant Carla Hoffman (Barbara Shelley), whose knowledge of the Gorgon is more intimate than anyone realizes. As the story unfolds, the villagers' suspicion turns to terror as a creature from Greek mythology, known as the Gorgon Megaera, takes over their lives during periods of the full moon.
