Arsenic and Old Lace

Mortimer Brewster, a newspaper drama critic and author, marries his neighbor Elaine Harper on Halloween day, unaware that his sweet old spinster aunts have been murdering lonely old men to save them from loneliness. The aunts' hobby is revealed when Mortimer returns home and discovers their homemade elderberry wine laced with arsenic, strychnine, and cyanide, which they use to end the lives of "suffering" bachelors. As Mortimer tries to protect his aunts from being discovered, he must also deal with a series of chaotic events involving his delusional younger brother Teddy, his older brother Jonathan, and two serial killers posing as their family members. The film is a non-stop mania that barely pauses for breath, stopping only briefly to put in a creepy menace, led by the perfectly cast Cary Grant.
