The Idolmaker is a 1980 American musical drama directed by Taylor Hackford, written by Edward di Lorenzo, and starring Ray Sharkey as Vincent "Vinnie" Vacarri, who discovers and promotes singer-songwriters Tommy Dee (Paul Land) and Caesare (Peter Gallagher). Inspired by the life of rock promoter Bob Marcucci, the film follows Vinnie's journey from discovering talent to navigating the cutthroat music industry.
