Innocence

The film follows a year in the life of six girls at a secluded boarding school where new students arrive in coffins. Six-year-old Iris arrives and is met with general warmth by the other girls, who take her under their wing. As time passes, Iris befriends Laura but she drowns trying to escape; ten-year-old Alice wins the annual inspection but flees into the snowy woods after being deemed "very bad." The focus shifts to Bianca, a violet ribbon girl who is pensive as she prepares for bodily changes. At night, the girls put on dance recitals for a mysterious audience and Iris spends her last day at school with Bianca before she leaves her duties to Nadja.
