"Polowanie na muchy" (1969) is a comedy-drama film that follows Włodek (Zygmunt Malanowicz), a middle-aged man stuck in a dead-end job at the local library, as he embarks on an affair with the beautiful young woman Irena (Małgorzata Braunek). The two take off for a three-day trip together, but their relationship is more intellectual than physical, and Irena's influence sparks Włodek to reevaluate his life and professional career. As Włodek returns home, surprises await him amidst the oppressive family dynamics, where his father-in-law's (Józef Pieracki) obsession with flies serves as a symbol of the stifling environment he tries to escape.
