Four high school students preparing for their university entrance exams meet up with an inebriated teacher, Ōtake, who sings a bawdy drinking song that becomes the main musical theme of the story. The encounter sets them on a less than academic path, as they fantasize about raping one of their classmates and engage in a series of events that blur the lines between reality and fantasy. Directed by Nagisa Ōshima, the film is a collage of scenes that explores themes of frustrated male sexuality, generational conflict, and discrimination against Koreans.
