Testament

In the haunting and powerful film Testament, director Lynne Littman brings to life a small town's desperate struggle for survival after nuclear war devastates the East Coast and California. Based on Carol Amen's 1981 short story "The Last Testament", this 1983 post-apocalyptic drama follows the Wetherly family as they cope with the aftermath of the bombings, dealing with radiation poisoning, social disintegration, and the loss of loved ones. As the town descends into chaos, a young couple flees in search of safety, while Carol, her son Brad, and their mentally-disabled adopted boy Hiroshi cling to hope and memory in a desperate bid for survival.
