In this 1921 silent drama film, Professor Andrew Theodore Griggs (Philip Hubbard) befriends his wealthy pupil Phil West (Louis Calhern), who falls for Griggs' daughter Amelia (Claire Windsor). When Mrs. Griggs is unable to pay the mortgage due to financial strain, her neighbor Hans Olsen's family helps out, and Phil sends a basket of food, including chicken, anonymously. The gesture wins over Amelia, and Phil's character matures as he becomes more empathetic towards those in need.
