Fashions of 1934

"Fashions of 1934" is a musical comedy film starring William Powell as Sherwood Nash, Bette Davis as fashion designer Lynn Mason, and Reginald Owen as Oscar Baroque, who becomes embroiled in a scheme to create counterfeit Parisian couture dresses. With the help of his partners Snap (Frank McHugh) and Joe Ward (Hugh Herbert), Sherwood creates affordable versions of high-end designs, but things take a turn when Lynn discovers that her rival designer, Baroque, is stealing his ideas from old costume books. The film features Busby Berkeley's signature musical numbers and a cast of colorful characters, including the Grand Duchess Alix (Verree Teasdale).
