Claude Jutra stars as himself in "Take It All" (1963), a semi-autobiographical drama that explores his romantic relationship with actress and model Johanne Harrelle, and his struggles with acceptance of his own homosexuality. The film blends documentary aesthetics with fiction, depicting taboo subjects like adultery, interracial sexuality, and abortion, before ending with Jutra's character walking off a pier into the St. Lawrence River, in a scene eerily foreshadowing his own death in 1986.
