Goal! The Dream Begins

Santiago Muñez (Kuno Becker), a skilled Mexican footballer living in Los Angeles, gets a chance to try out for Premiership club Newcastle United after being scouted by Glen Foy, a former player and scout. With the help of Roz Harmison, the club's nurse, Santiago overcomes his asthma and impresses Erik Dornhelm, the club's manager, enough to earn a one-month contract. After adapting to English conditions, Santiago becomes friends with teammate Gavin Harris (Alessandro Nivola) and eventually makes his debut for the first team, helping Newcastle win a crucial match against Liverpool that secures their place in the UEFA Champions League.
