The Castle of Purity

A Mexican drama film directed by Arturo Ripstein, "The Castle of Purity" is based on a true story from 1959 where a man keeps his family isolated in their home to protect them from what he sees as the corrupting influences of human nature. The film follows Gabriel Lima's fragile situation changing when he realizes that his children are entering adolescence, forcing him to confront his own hypocrisy and misogynistic tendencies.
