In 1947, Jackie Robinson becomes the first Black man to play in Major League Baseball facing unabashed racism from the public, the press and other players. Chadwick Boseman stars as Robinson, alongside Harrison Ford as Branch Rickey, who recruits him for the Brooklyn Dodgers despite the immense challenges they face. The film follows Robinson's journey as he trains with the Montreal Royals, breaks into the MLB, and faces hostile teammates and opponents, including Ben Chapman, while Rickey stands by his side.
