In this offbeat Western comedy-drama, a charming ex-ballplayer returns to his rural Ontario roots to outwit a corrupt and wealthy thoroughbred owner trying to take over a string of local farms. Determined to stay out of trouble, he teams up with a kick-ass jockey to take on the powerful Sonny Stanton and save the community's remaining farms from gentrification, all while navigating his complicated past and small-town politics. With its unique blend of humor and heart, this film offers a refreshingly authentic portrayal of rural life in Canada.
