Tjoet Nja' Dhien

In 1896, Indonesia's great hero Cut Nyak Dhien leads her people in a fierce war against the Dutch colonial army, following the death of her second husband Teuku Umar. Tjoet Nja' Dhien, played by Christine Hakim, assumes leadership of the rebels after Umar's assassination and motivates locals to join the fight for independence. Despite personal obstacles, she remains committed to the cause for ten years before being captured by the Dutch in 1905.
