Christine Hakim

Biography

Herlina Christine Natalia Hakim, born December 25, 1956, in Kuala Tungkal, Jambi, Indonesia, is an actress, film producer, and activist. She initially pursued a career in architecture or psychology before being discovered for her role in Cinta Pertama (1973), earning her a Citra Award for Best Leading Actress. Hakim has since starred in numerous films, including Badai Pasti Berlalu (1977) and Tjoet Nja' Dhien (1988). She is known for her work in education and autism awareness, serving as Indonesia's Ambassador to UNESCO from 2008.
