The Shadow Boxing

The Shadow Boxing (1979) is a martial arts film masterpiece that follows Taoist priests guiding stiff corpses back to their homes for burial using Maoshan arts to cast incantations on jiangshi to animate their movement. With breathtaking action and set pieces, the film showcases Lau Kar-leung's unique style as a director and choreographer, blending elements of kung fu comedy with spirit boxing and jiangshi folklore. A thematic sequel to his debut film The Spiritual Boxer, it features several returning actors in different roles and is notable for being an early jiangshi film based on Chinese folklore.
