"For Love of Ivy" is a 1968 American romantic comedy film starring Sidney Poitier as Jack Parks and Abbey Lincoln as Ivy Moore, a 27-year-old African-American woman who leaves her job as a maid to attend secretarial school. Her family tries to keep her by setting her up on a series of awkward dinner dates with Parks, hoping to distract her from her plans. Eventually, romance blossoms between the two, and they leave their past behind for a life together in New York City.
