Atouk (Ringo Starr), a scrawny caveman, is banished from his tribe for lusting after Lana (Barbara Bach). He joins a group of misfits, including Lar (Dennis Quaid) and Tala (Shelley Long), who teach him how to use fire, cook, and walk upright. Together, they invent music, weapons, and learn to defend themselves against dinosaurs.
