Dangerous to Know

Dangerous to Know is a 1938 American crime drama film about racketeer Steve Recka (Akim Tamiroff), who rules his town with an iron hand alongside his beautiful mistress Madame Lan Ying (Anna May Wong). After meeting Margaret Van Kase (Gail Patrick), a socialite unimpressed by his power, Steve makes frantic efforts to win her and turns away from loyal Lin Yang. As Steve's plans unfold, he must navigate a web of deceit and violence, ultimately leading to a tragic confrontation with Inspector Brandon (Lloyd Nolan) and Madame Lan Ying's heartbreaking downfall.
