Viva Maria!

In 1907, Maria II, an Irish-born woman with a troubled past as her father's accomplice in bombings against the British government, finds refuge with Maria I, a French vaudeville performer in a traveling circus troupe. The two Marias team up for a song-and-dance act called "Maria and Maria," despite Maria II's inexperience as a performer, and their debut inadvertently invents the striptease. As they tour Central America, they witness a village being ransacked by henchmen and become entangled in the revolution led by Florès, a socialist revolutionary. The Marias join forces with Florès, using their unique skills to lead a peasant army against the forces of oppression, eventually becoming venerated as revolutionary heroines.
