In a bizarre and unforgettable gesture of good-natured one-upmanship, German filmmaker Werner Herzog takes to the stage at the premiere of Errol Morris's film Gates of Heaven to devour the very shoe he had vowed to eat if Morris ever completed his project, in a spectacle that also features a cameo from chef Alice Waters.
