Werner Herzog is a German film director, screenwriter, author, actor, and opera director, regarded as a pioneer of New German Cinema. Born on September 5, 1942, he began working on his first film Herakles in 1961 at the age of 19. Herzog's films often feature ambitious protagonists with impossible dreams, people with unique talents, or individuals in conflict with nature, characterized by an unconventional filmmaking process that emphasizes improvisation and real-life situations.
