Year of the Dragon

In 1980s New York City, police captain Stanley White becomes obsessed with destroying a Chinese-American drug ring run by Joey Tai, an ambitious and ruthless young gangster. As he pursues his mission, White grows increasingly willing to violate police protocol, resorting to violent measures that put him at odds with his superiors and his own troubled marriage. Based on a 1981 novel by Robert Daley and co-written with Oliver Stone, Year of the Dragon is a gripping New York crime drama that explores themes of ethnicity, racism, and stereotypes, set against a backdrop of gangs, the illegal drug trade, and gangland violence.
