The Promise

Igor, a 15-year-old apprentice mechanic, is forced to confront his father Roger and their illicit business dealings when one of their undocumented immigrant workers, Hamidou, dies on a construction site. Igor must keep a promise to care for Hamidou's wife and baby, but the price would be betraying his father. As Igor navigates this moral conflict, he forms a connection with Assita, another immigrant, who is desperate to find her husband and protect her child.
