In "Montparnasse 19," the last year of Amedeo Modigliani's life is told through a poignant portrayal of his struggles as an artist and his doomed love affairs. The film follows Modigliani's tumultuous relationships with writer Beatrice Hastings and art student Jeanne Hébuterne, who inspire some of his most famous paintings, against the backdrop of poverty, illness, and bohemian excess in 1919 Paris.
