The Veil

The Veil is a 2016 American supernatural horror film directed by Phil Joanou and starring Jessica Alba as Maggie Price, a documentary filmmaker who returns to the site of a mass suicide in her childhood cult with her brother Christian. The group discovers lost footage from the cult's leader, Jim Jacobs, that reveals the truth behind the cult's actions, including a mysterious poison that causes possession. As they watch the tapes, the filmmakers become convinced that the house is haunted, and Sarah Hope, the sole survivor of the mass suicide, holds a seance to communicate with her mother, who reveals that she is actually Jim Jacobs in disguise.
