Édouard, voiced by Jamel Debbouze, is the eldest son of the King of the Simiens who was rejected by his tribe at birth due to his puny appearance. He grows up far from his family with the help of Ian, and discovers fire, hunting, modern habitat, love, and hope. Generous, he leads his people towards true humanity with brilliance and humor, learning to walk, discover fire, manage to hunt, and evolve into a world where humans don't eat their fathers.
