Fried Green Tomatoes

In this poignant Southern Gothic comedy-drama, a middle-aged housewife becomes enthralled by the stories of two young women who experienced hardships and love in 1920s Alabama. A timid woman finds solace in hearing tales of Idgie Threadgoode and Ruth Jamison from an elderly lady she meets at a nursing home, leading her to rediscover herself and challenge her own life. As Evelyn Couch listens to Ninny's story, inspired by the women in the tale, she starts acting more assertive, dressing more casually, exercising, retaliating when people do her wrong, and altering her life to suit her taste.
