Columna

The film "Columna" is a 1968 Romanian historical drama that explores the end of Trajan's Dacian Wars and the transformation of southwestern Dacia into a Roman province. The story follows the years after the war, including the beginnings of Romanization and Romanian ethnogenesis, as well as the construction of Ulpia Traiana Sarmizegetusa. The action revolves around the complex relationships between Roman commander Tiberius (Richard Johnson) and Andrada, an aristocratic Dacian woman played by Antonella Lualdi, who becomes his wife after showing clemency to Gerula, a devoted supporter of Decebalus who trains free Dacians to launch a resistance against the Romans.
