Biography

Amedeo Nazzari was an Italian actor who emerged as a leading figure in Italian classic cinema during the Fascist era, later maintaining popularity into the post-war years. He gained early experience on stage and competed for film contracts through Twentieth Century Fox's Rudolph Valentino contest, but ultimately lost to Alberto Rabagliati. Nazzari went on to star in notable films such as "The Sicilian Clan" (1969) and "Columna" (1968). His Sardinian accent remained a distinctive feature of his acting career.
