A Foreign Affair

In occupied Berlin, Congresswoman Phoebe Frost (Jean Arthur) and army captain John Pringle (John Lund) find themselves torn between their moral duties and their feelings for each other, as Phoebe investigates Erika Von Schlüetow's (Marlene Dietrich), a former Nazi café singer who has been protected by Pringle. As Phoebe navigates the complexities of post-war Germany, she must confront her own personal biases and morals, while Pringle is drawn to both Phoebe and Erika.
