In 1963 Baltimore, rival aluminum-siding salesmen Bill "BB" Babowsky (Richard Dreyfuss) and Ernest Tilley (Danny DeVito) engage in a series of escalating pranks and one-upmanship after a minor car accident. As their feud intensifies, both men face personal struggles - BB's partner is hospitalized, while Tilley's gambling addiction puts his relationship with his wife Nora (Barbara Hershey) at risk. Eventually, the two men form an unlikely partnership to create a new business venture.
