In this hilarious and crass comedy, Artie Lange stars as an unemployed town drunk who inspires his softball teammates to improve their game in order to avoid getting kicked out of the local league. With the help of a surprising romantic connection with his old flame Linda, Artie's team, Ed's Bar and Swill, manages to pull off an upset against their arch-rivals Manganelli Fitness in the championship game, thanks to a game-changing solo home run by Artie himself. The film follows the misadventures of these lovable losers as they navigate love, friendship, and the ups and downs of competitive softball.
