Navy Commander Alan Roberts leads a perilous expedition to Little America in Antarctica, only to find himself and his helicopter party stranded in a lush, prehistoric jungle after being forced down by a storm. They soon discover they are not alone, trapped in a world teeming with life - including dinosaurs like the Tyrannosaurus Rex and Elasmosaurus - that have survived from a bygone era.
