In this offbeat black comedy, a Stockholm urbanite sets out to find his missing beauty-queen sister in their rural hometown of Värmland, only to discover she's transformed into an unlikely local gem. As he navigates eccentric locals and questionable law enforcement, Erik uncovers a woman unrecognizable from the polished pageant contestant he once knew. With its hipster flair and Ulf Malmros's deft direction, Slim Susie is a sidesplitting exploration of sibling relationships, small-town secrets, and the transformative power of autonomy.
